AND the most fun thing : the were wrong !!! You must buy a mass off plans at the AI sellers. Sunken tresure : a new campain and really enjoying game with a lot of news!!īotanica garden. waiting a verry long long time to get to try to obtein the full quest line … like in ANNO 1404. bof !bof ! a simple medium AI with only one challenge. Now i got all the achievements and play the DLC. that for that i meet only one bug : this one where you must use a little war ship to help 3 people instead you amiral ship.Īfter, of course ,i looking for walkthrough video and found somes made by a german wich was really instructives. and i was never in war before the new word.Īnd the "tutorial" campain was strickly scripted. exept ANNO 2205 cos my poor old computer at the time.Īnd at the beginning of ANNO 1800 that is not the pause option wich was the first important missing thing but stupidly one simple MANUAL !! like the others games…Ĭos like someone wrote it you may change the AI to have a campain more easy for the tutorial… Ok! ok! ok! but when you opened the game the first time : How you may think to do that ?Īnyway since 1404, I knew you must be quiet with the AI so I Always try to managed in the panel diplomacy. Just play it slow and focus on getting some reinforced concrete for commuter piers, that way you're workforce is shared on all the islands connected with it. There's no need to build a new city once you reach engineers. I couldn't even imagine to play with more AI or pirates or go to war.įor all who want an easy AI I can recommend Bente Jorgenson, she is not aggressive at all and she doesn't progress faster than one self, at least not much and she is giving you money all the time, saved my neck more than ones in the beginning. In the Beta I never even made it to Artisans, men had I known, I might not have bought the game, it's rather a bit much. So I totally agree that the enjoyment of it all is questionable. Not to mention the needs of the new world. And now I'm really starting to get annoyed, because I have yet to build an other City just because I need Zinc. I just had my first engineer, after about 25 hours in one session (after I started new at least five times). I'm on easy with only one AI three neutrals no pirates, and still having the feeling I'm lost. I'm playing Anno for years, but this time I'm actually totally overwhelmed. But I agree the game is rather wanting a lot. Anno never had it,and I actually never missed it. I can't really say if an active pause would help me or not. It's the type of game in which the visitors of the rollercoaster enter it and you have to make sure no one dies along the way, even when you're building or tweaking or optimizing it. You can plan ahead without problems, but the gametime will go on.Īnno isn't a game in which you build the perfect rollercoaster and tweak it a lot, if you're paused. The blueprint mechanic is a perfect compromise, which I do like, but I never missed. It's about managing everything that you don't focus on just enough, and the thing you're focusing on perfectly. It's not about perfectly managing everything, and planning ahead when paused. I think the passive pause is just fine, it's an anno game with established gameplay and a history of 21 years. I agree with the endless war though, it seems like an unintended problem, and will most likely be fixed within the month. where your attacked ships are) and what needs your priority. I think you'll find it goes a lot smoother if you play the game multiple times, you will remember better where you are in the game (i.e. What you describe is just what anno is about. I took over all of the AIs islands accept for their home and they never surrendered, how does that make sense. Now im playing on medium and having a lot more fun focusing on building up my islands while dealing with the AIs, buying their shares, enjoying an interaction besides instant war that lasts forever and causes the game to get trapped at Tier 3 for 8 hours because all of your mats are going to ships of the line. I beat the campaign and when I got the achievements all I could think about is, "oh god I want this to end." I can see how an active pause feature in single player would be very useful, to quickly pause the game and then finish what you are trying to plan out the perfect layout instead of rushing it. "YOUR SHIP IS UNDER ATTACK", click on that see whats going on, resolve thatįorget about the beer, click on the new world, notice a fire burned down the plantations and I was to busy with a different fight 30 min ago to fix it, get that back Im trying to plan out a beer production line. That said playing on the highest difficulty can be more stressful than I think it should be. I am in the camp of people that never paused ANNO games because I like my stuff to build up while im planning.
